Mr. Amit Singh

Brief Profile

Mr. Amit Singh is working as a Consultant at ICRIER. He is associated with ICRIER since November, 2007. Before joining ICRIER, Mr. Singh has worked with some renowned Institutions based in New Delhi/NCR viz. ISIL, IIPA/MoEF, IILM Institute for Higher Education. Mr. Singh is working on the changing dynamics and future trends in India-Japan Economic/Trade Relations with focus on the likely role of these two large economies in an increasingly globalized world. He specializes on the legal/regulatory aspects of international trade. He completed his M. Phil. in ‘International Law’  from JNU in 2006 on the topic “International Legal Aspects of Eco-Labelling: With special reference to WTO Agreement”   by taking the developing countries’ perspective. He is a PhD Candidate at the Center for International Legal Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, working on the topic ‘International Legal Regime for Biotech Trade: Regulatory Frameworks and Evolving Jurisprudence’. He completed his LL.M. from University of Lucknow and LL.B. from Dr. R. M. L. Awadh University, Faizabad. He has the Bachelor of Science from University of Allahabad. He got first position in Post-Graduate Diploma in Labour Laws & Personnel Management from University of Lucknow in 2001. He has participated in the training programmes such as the openingSummer Program on Public International Law’ at the Xiamen Academy of International Law, Xiamen University, CHINA during August-September 2006; and the ‘Third Asia Link Workshop in Law and Economics’  held in July 2008 at IGIDR, Mumbai.
