Seema Sapra
Visiting Fellow

Brief Profile

Seema Sapra  is a visiting fellow at ICRIER and is researching on WTO issues. She is a practicing lawyer and has several years of private practice experience having worked in commercial law firms as well as with the office of the Attorney General of India. Most recently, she was Director, Trade and Policy at Amarchand Mangaldas, in its New Delhi office. Seema has been a visiting fellow at the Institute of International Economic Law, Georgetown University Law Centre.  She has taught trade law as LLM tutor at University College London and contract law as LLB tutor at the Westminster University Law School. She has delivered guest lectures on world trade law for the LLM program at Kings College London and at the University of Leicester. Her research interests include special and differential treatment in the WTO, WTO institutional reform, and climate change issues at the WTO. Seema has presented her research at international conferences in London, Edinburgh, Washington D.C., Bretton Woods, Waterloo (Ontario) and in Geneva. She writes a blog on Indian participation at the WTO titled “India in the WTO”.

Seema is currently working towards her PhD from Kings College London. She obtained her B.A. in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College in 1992, her LLB from the University of Delhi in 1995, and her LLM from the University of Leicester in 2003.
