Dr. Sahana Roy Chowdhury has joined ICRIER in January 2011 as a Fellow. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S.in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute.
Prior to joining ICRIER she worked at the Monetary Research Project Division, ICRA Limited as an Economist from 2008 to 2010. She spent from April 2008 to June 2008 at Cornell University, Ithaca as a Visiting Student for scientific discussion with the faculty members. Her area of interest is broadly Development Economics; inequality and related issues, labour market issues such as occupational choice, migration and unemployment, informal economy.
Dr. Roy Chowdhury has presented her work at various national and international conferences including the South and South East Asia Econometric Society Meeting at the Institute for Financial Management and Research (Chennai), Department of Economics, Cornell University, Ithaca (USA), National Institute of Advanced Studies (Bangalore), Winter School Conference at Delhi School of Economics and Annual Conference on Economic Growth, Indian Statistical Institute (Delhi).
